New plating processes from Twickenham Plating
Plating services offered by Twickenham Plating Group are targeted at high technology industries such as electronics, telecommunications, aerospace and military. The firm will exhibit at Southern Manufacturing for the first time in 2013, showcasing two new processes recently added to its already comprehensive range of services.
Black zinc nickel is a suitable alternative to cadmium and is compatible with other connector coatings. Its key features are a black non-reflective coating and excellent corrosion resistance even when cross-mated to cadmium plated items. The second process is high phosphorous electro-less nickel which exhibits superior performance in many engineering functional applications with good lubricity, wear and abrasion resistance. Its amorphous structure results in low porosity even at thicknesses less than 10 micron.
