Abssac showcases quick-release hydraulic drive couplings at Southern 2013
Abssac will be showcasing an innovative range of hydraulic drive couplings at Southern Manufacturing 2013. The Worcester-based firm is the UK distributor for the ETP range of hydraulic hub shaft connections. These clever devices use hydraulic pressure to create a reliable fit between shaft and hub, but which enables the hub be removed or repositioned with the greatest of ease by simply loosening a single screw.
Whether the hubs are to be removed or repositioned, mounting and dismantling is achieved in just a few seconds. The hydraulic principle gives immediate advantages for today’s modern machines. The compact designs also ensure better concentricity and balance at increased machine speeds, shorter downtime for servicing, and increased precision.
This simple hydraulic-lock feature ensures extremely quick and easy servicing and simple adjustment or repositioning of the hub. The single-screw hub-shaft connections are used in a variety of applications and industries such as packaging, food, beverage and pharmaceuticals. The standard ETP-Techno and ETP-Express hubs are available for shaft diameters from 15mm to 130mm. ETP-Express R, the stainless steel versions, are available to suit shafts from 15mm to 80mm.
For larger machines and heavier loads, the ETP-HYLOC and ETP-HYCON (HYCON S/SX and HYCON F/FX) series are robust, compact and capable of transmitting high torques and radial loads. Designed for reliability, to withstand high loads yet also allow quick mounting and dismantling of large shafts, the hubs are suitable for applications in difficult environments and heavy operations such as the steel and marine industry. Models are available for shaft sizes between 50mm and 220mm, with installation and disassembly times dramatically reduced compared with keyways or taper lock alternatives.
