Specialist parts are machined in specialist materials

Existing and newly added services from Acro Engineering were highlighted at this year’s Southern Manufacturing. The company has been manufacturing turned parts for almost 35 years, with customers in industries as diverse as automotive, energy, defence and medical.

Acro review edit Equipped with modern autos, multi-spindles and machining centres, the company has recently added machining capability to allow machining straight from SolidWorks drawings, a 24-hour unmanned production capability and the ability to work with exotic materials such as titanium and monel. Fred Pain, managing director (pictured), noted:” We are seeing more and more work returning to our shores, and with our unmanned machining capability, we are now looking to win a bigger share of this business".

The company recently gained recognition for 3D machining, with knowledge in SolidWorks and investment in 3D milling technology. The team at Acro has worked in a broad range of material, from nylon to specially toughened alloys.
