Five-axis vertical machining centre has its debut
The first showing by Ajax Machine Tools International of its new five-axis vertical machining centre took place at Southern Manufacturing 2014 in Farnborough. The company also launched the ‘show special’ package for the European-built flat bed CNC lathe with chuck, offering UK mainland delivery for under £15,000.
The Heidenhain TNC 620-controlled Ajax V700-5X offers value-for-money against specification and build quality, says the company, with a 17kW, 10,000RPM spindle, a 200mm diameter rotary/tilt table and 24 tool magazine as standard. The table size is 800x400mm and direct drive motors provide rapid traverse rates of 48m/min across the axis travels of 700mm in the X axis, 400mm in the Y axis and 650mm in the Z axis. Optionally, the spindle speed can be increased to 12,000RPM and a 20bar high pressure coolant system added.
The European-built AJEU Euroturn 200 flat bed CNC lathe with Siemens 808D control is the smallest in the three machine range, says the company. It has a swing over bed of 402, 502 and 650mm and between centre distances of 750 to 3,000mm. Motor power is up to 7.5kW and connected to three speed gearboxes torque levels are maximised. A quick-change tool post has an option of an eight-station turret.
