Röchling Industrial UK protects products with SmartMarker

Röchling Industrial UK integrates a specially adapted marker is integrated into semi-finished plastic products during manufacture so that machined components bear the distinctive SmartMarker and can be clearly authenticated or identified.

The tiny marker particles are invisible and do not affect the technical properties of the material. SmartMarker is a promising development for digital material passports, information for recycling and counterfeit protection.

The particle fingerprint can be digitised and stored in databases. Customers can save product and quality-relevant information such as material properties, customer information and batch numbers.

Tracer-based sorting (TBS) detects markers in plastics. This opens up new options in the development of recycling systems where it can be used to sort plastic recycling efficiently and reliably.

A reference surface is created on the component which contains a random, individual and irreproducible particle pattern or particle fingerprint. During authentication, a mobile BrandProof pocket detector scans the component to find the marker and prove the origin of the product and which company manufactured it.
