Robotas’s hand assembly station is ergonomic

Robotas preview edit_tmb Best known for its Mascot PCB workstations, Robotas Technologies is taking the chance to demonstrate its diversification into hand assembly at Southern Manufacturing 2015.

The Sigma hand assembly workstation, for example, features ergonomic production benches and intelligent parts handling resources. Everything is immediately to hand for operators, with computerised step-by-step instructions alongside options like real-time indicators on intelligent tote bins and motorised carousels to present the correct parts and tools every time.

Smart technology interfaces drives productivity. One example is full tooling integration, where direct control links to tools, such as torque screwdrivers, permit torque and other tool settings to be automatically uploaded for each part of the assembly process. There is also programmable data inputs to conditionally alter the hand assembly procedure on the fly, suitable for managing product variants and implementing mass customisation initiatives.
