Low loss RF cable assembly joins waterproof connectors
Alongside its RF connectors, Intelliconnect (Europe) showcased an extensive low loss RF cable assembly manufacturing service for assemblies using semi-rigid, conformable, LMR and RG cables. Typical applications include security, medical, defence and aerospace, including marine IP68 waterproof, test and measurement, high power amplifiers, RF combiners and filters, multi-beam antenna arrays, phased array radars.
The UK manufactured, bespoke cable assemblies are available for both high-volume or specialist small batch requirements and operate from DC to 50GHz. Phase matched cable assemblies may also be specified allowing customers to specify the electrical length in time or degrees at the frequency of operation for a specific cable assembly.
Among the connectors on display at Southern 2015, the Pisces connectors now include additional connector and cable termination options suitable for most co-axial/tri-axial/twin axial waterproof connector groups. They are available in SMA, TNC and N type cable plug options which may be connected to a variety of cables including many LMR, RG, semi-rigid and semi-flexible cable types.
Enhancements extend the range of potential applications to include 75Ω variants for video camera security applications, environmental monitoring ocean buoys, traffic cameras (ANPR), coastguard/HM customs patrol boats, personal locator beacons, military radios/communications systems, environmental monitoring and water management and vehicle tracking.
