I/O system can be used in energy sector

Phoenix edit CH_tmbAt Southern 2016, Phoenix Contact showcased its robust I/O system, Axioline F, which is suitable for applications in the energy sector. With the new bus coupler and the new I/O modules, the I/O system can be used for IEC 61850, says Phoenix.

The bus coupler can be configured via the web interface. All parameters necessary for the operation of the I/O station can be set without any programming knowledge. The bus coupler processes CID or SCD IEC 61850 configuration files directly. Implementing standard-compliant communication according to IEC 61850, which is certified by KEMA, ensures safe interoperable system behaviour.

The I/O modules have digital inputs and relay outputs to meet the requirements of the energy sector in particular, such as 220V DC or the impulse withstand voltage of 5kV. The modules feature high immunity to interference up to 8kV and a robust design which can withstand mechanical strain such as shocks up to 30g. Insulation plates are not required, which means that the modules can be combined with the company’s existing Axioline F range.
