Easy Wiring Board modernises cable harness production says Heamar

Heamar is exhibiting Laselec’s Easy Wiring board at this year’s Southern Manufacturing & Electronics exhibition. The Laselec system is an innovative alternative to the traditional cable harness building method involving wooden boards and pins. The EasyWiring interactive harness board modernises electrical harness building through the use of software that guides the operator through the entire harness assembly process. Benefits of this system include increased productivity, reduction in training time and improved traceability. EasyWiring also reduces the risk of an error and trims the time spent on prototyping. This solution reduces the complexity and duration of harness manufacturing as the operator is guided throughout the workflow and no paper documentation is needed.

Being highlighted at this year’s show, EasyTouch is a new additional feature for the EasyWiring interactive harness assembly board, designed to reduce the complexity of routing operations and harness manufacturing control. A simple touch of the wire’s extremity is all that’s required to display routing and pinning information on the interactive assembly board.

The operator can also perform a continuity test on a connector during the harness assembly process by connecting it to the EasyTouch test unit. This allows the operator to detect and correct any errors directly on the assembly board. A final test can be performed on the complete harness by connecting all connectors to the EasyTouch Test Unit, and a test report can be generated.
