Desktop soldering lands in UK

Pillarhouse preview edit_tmb Pillarhouse introduces its desktop, entry level Pilot machine at Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2016. It is suitable for small to medium batch, hand-load operations with a high specification value option, and also for SME producers where floor space is at a premium and flexibility and energy saving are key considerations. The machine is designed to process boards up to 330 x 250mm.

This is the most affordable machine available from the company, yet still features as standard, its flexible AP solder nozzle technology. For more demanding applications, an optional, patented 1.5mm micro nozzle can be used when soldering in close proximity to SMT. The process is enhanced by a localised hot nitrogen environment at the point of soldering, say the company. An optional nitrogen generator is neatly built into the base of the unit, saving valuable bench space as it then becomes the machine’s stand. Additional options include manual fiducial correction and an integral fume filtration system.

The patented Drop-Jet fluxer is fitted as standard. An optional bottom side IR pre-heat is available, for users processing multi-layer PCBs or using water-based fluxes.

The PillarCOMM programming and control software gives the operator the ability to create any process programme quickly and easily using a ‘point-and-click’ interface.

The company has been designing and manufacturing specialist soldering equipment for the electronics industries for over 30 years. It offers a range of selective soldering, from low cost, flexible, standalone bench top entry level systems through to advanced, high speed integrated inline production cells.
