Circular connector offers space savings

USE THIS ONE Yamaichi_Electronics_Y-Circ P_tmb Circular connectors from Yamaichi Electronics will be highlighted at Southern Electronics 2016. The push-pull locking mechanism, says the company, offers cost advantages due to material reduction and thus space saving design.  The new model, the Y-Circ P uses the push-pull locking mechanism for simple insertion and unlocking of the connector by pulling on the housing. High-quality contacts permit at least 5,000 plug cycles, says the company. The connector is significantly shorter than the competing products, saving space. The design of the shield contacts are optimised, with all half-shells designed identically to simplify the assembly of the connector, reducing the time and expense for assembly.

The B series of the connector has a protection rating of IP50. Initially, four diameters are available, each of which can be equipped with a different number of contacts. The chrome-plated metal housing is tough, making the connector suitable for use on visually demanding devices. The machined contacts mean that both secure data transmission and high currents are no problem.
