Robotic help aids production systems
Described as the ultimate automation innovation, Robopod from Mechatronic Production Systems offers a standardised platform for robot applications. It introduces packaged, plug-and-play robotics for all manufacturing industries, says the company. The solution will be demonstrated by the firm at Southern Manufacturing 2015.
Robopod will undertake the kind of jobs that people who work on handling and assembly lines do, but in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost. It is reusable and – when the application has come to an end – it can be retooled for a new product or application.
It can be purchased or leased and used for assembly, inspection, welding, dispensing, soldering, laser and handling, although the company says the options are endless.
