MELFA Assista cobot lends a hand
Demonstrations of Mitsubishi Electric Automation Systems UK’s MELFA Assista collaborative robot (cobot) can be seen at the Design and Automation Solutions (DAS) stand (C310).
Partner Mitsubishi has lent the company the cobot so that engineers can train and familiarise themselves with it and pass on this knowledge to customers. DAS can tool and program the cobot for different automation applications.
The provider of bespoke automation systems has supplied heavy duty scissor lift tables with cross slides and added a tooled GRIMM linear to a cap feeding system for a UK biotech automation company. It has also provided a powered gantry system, capable of automatically tracking the position of a moving robot within a 9.0 x 6.0 x 2.5m volume, for another customer. The gantry was also required to provide an 80kg winch.
