Latest moulding area caters for demanding procedures
At Southern 2018 to promoting its new controlled environment moulding area, Simon Plastics, now operates 23 moulding machines in a high specification ‘white room’ which has filtered, temperature controlled pressurised air supply, air locked doors and full gowning and cleaning procedures.
There is also another area in which three machines operate in an environment that uses HEPA filtered air supply for more demanding applications.
Machine sizes range from five tonne micro moulding up to 300 tonne 750g shot weight machines.
A large proportion of the moulding and assembly work is for medical and biopharma customers, but other markets, such as electronics, fibre optics and precision engineering are now demanding the additional controls possible in controlled environments.
The company also provides full project management, tooling design and manufacture, manufacturing operations including ultrasonic welding, printing and packaging as well as a full medical validation capability.
