Laser cell allows for versatile label placement
Designed to accurately mark PCBs on a production line or for use as a standalone cell, the Laser marking system series 3 from Nutek, showcased at this year’s Southern Manufacturing, uses a “flying laser” concept.
The PCB is locked in its marking position while the CO2 laser is moved using servo controlled X-Y axis. The number of markings and their positions are programmable in Windows-based software. An integrated inverter is optionally available for double-sided marking.
A distinguishing feature of the laser cell is the option to place a blank label and then laser-mark the label. This enables codes to be placed over tracks and via holes and sometimes components, says the company.
In addition to supplying board handling and traceability equipment, the company offers a wide range of products from PCB magazine racks, PCB conveyors, AOI reject conveyors, magazine loaders, buffers and unloaders, barcode labelling cells, laser marking cells, barcode scan stations, PCB cleaning, UV ovens, workstations and benches. It also offers second-user Nutek equipment, which is fully refurbished and carries a six-month warranty.
