IPC’s hand soldering competition returns

IPC’s hand soldering competition returns

Visitors are invited to compete in IPC‘s popular hand soldering competition.  The popular competition returns to Southern Manufacturing. To compete, visitors have 60 minutes to assemble a complex PCB using a hand solder. They will be judged in accordance with IPC-A-610 Class 3 criteria. Each competitor’s entry will be inspected and rated according to the overall quality of the results achieved. Criteria are based on the quality of the assembly process, the overall electrical functionality of the assembly and the speed at which the assembly was produced.

Any visitors can entry, competitors do not need to be an IPC member, or IPC-certified, to take part. There is no registration fee but competition slots are limited so register today!

Hand soldering of high-density PCBAs requires highly skilled and qualified experts to meet zero-defect soldering leading to overall assembly reliability, says IPC.
