Hamamatsu Photonics (UK) unveils T-SMILS laser technology

New laser technology from Hamamatsu Photonics (UK) uses temperature monitoring and control to weld plastics. The T-SMILS lasers process plastic and composite materials and is capable of welding plastics by temperature interface monitoring and control.

Despite lower costs, due to the higher output power of semiconductor lasers, there are still concerns for laser processing around reliability and quality control, which the company addresses. It says understanding the process for stable laser processing eliminates this anxiety and allows customers to focus instead on visual control of the processing. The company offers a variety of semiconductor laser applied products for use in a wide range of applications from R&D to full scale production.

The dedicated team on the stand will be happy to discuss how this technology can improve plastic welding processes as well as talk about the wider range of products available.

The T-SMILS  laser technology is offered by Hamamatsu together with a wide range of optoelectronic components and systems.
