Fast bonding is bubble-free

Regardless of which substrates need to be bonded and the conditions that prevail, if it’s technically possible, Henkel says it can provide the most appropriate solution. Its range of adhesives incorporate five core technologies: epoxies, acrylics, polyurethanes, silane modified polymers and silicones. The company also provides dispensing equipment from hand-held devices to fully automated systems.

Henkel Loctite preview_tmb Visitors to Southern Manufacturing 2015 will see the patented Jet Valve system, which enables bubble-free dispensing at up to 300 drops/second. Droplets can be as small as 0.3mm depending on the adhesive used. This new diaphragm technology is easy to integrate, says the company, with a compact design and it requires little maintenance.

Other new additions introduced at Southern Manufacturing are the flexible instant adhesive, LOCTITE 4902 that offers elongation of up to 155% and provides a high-strength bond in seconds. It can be used on plastics, rubber, metals and other substrates and is ISO 10993 biocompatible making it suitable for bonding disposable medical devices.

The TECHNOMELT range of low pressure moulding, hotmelt adhesives has also been expanded. New formulations are available that are UV-stabilised, clear and chemical resistant. They address the most demanding encapsulation requirements including all types of sensors, automotive products, new lighting designs and medical devices.
