ESI Technology offers hydrogen-compatible pressure measurement devices

To capitalise on the benefits of hydrogen – a cleaner, secure and more affordable source of energy and one with the potential to drastically reduce and tackle CO2 emission levels, ESI Technology has introduced a hydrogen-compatible range of pressure measurement devices.

The pressure diaphragm and threaded pressure port are machined from a specialist titanium alloy specifically designed to withstand harsh and demanding environments. There is also a non-oil-filled sensor and high integrity stainless steel housing providing a robust and versatile unit that can be used across a range of environments.

Silicon-on-sapphire (SOS) sensor technology provides performance, stability and highly accurate pressure measurement.

Samples of the materials used in the manufacture of the range were tested to ISO 11114-2:2017 in accordance with the European Regulations EC 79/2009 and EU 406/2010 to determine an “embrittlement index” when placed in a saturated environment over extended periods of time.

The pressure measurement devices can be used in hydrogen storage, production, refuelling, hydrogen engines, marine propulsion, fuel cells and laboratories.
