Coilcraft’s EGL inductors excel in DC resistance and low AC losses

Among the range of commercial and critical-grade magnetics for RF and power applications by Coilcraft there is the XGL family of moulded power inductors.  Coilcraft says they offer the industry’s lowest DC resistance and have extremely low AC losses making them suitable for a wide range of DC/DC converters. The family comprises 20 product sizes with inductance values from 42nH to 56μH and current ratings up to 117A. The XGL inductors also have up to 60% lower DCR than previous-generation products.

Other products from Coilcraft are wirewound RF and microwave frequency inductors for commercial, industrial, automotive, military and space environments. Wirewound construction achieves extremely high Q for high efficiency in high frequency RF impedance matching and antenna matching circuits. Among this portfolio, the 016008C series, at just 0.47 x 0.28mm, is claimed to be the world’s smallest wirewound chip inductor. It also has the highest Q factor, says the company at up to 40% higher than the best thin-film options.

There is also the HTX7045 chip-style isolation transformers which are up to 70% smaller than comparable core and bobbin models, adds the company. They offer 4K VDC Hi-Pot, making them suitable for gate drive and isolated SPI communication applications.
