Washington Metalworks manages projects from concept to delivery

With over 35 years’ experience in metalwork fabrication, Southern Manufacturing 2020 exhibitor Washington Metalworks serves a wide range of industries including rail, bus, automotive, electronics, leisure and earthmoving equipment. In its 130,000 sq ft facility, it has the in-house capabilities to manage projects from concept through to delivery.

Manufacture ranges from one-off prototypes to full batch production in a range of materials, including aluminium, stainless steel, mild steel and copper. It uses the latest technology fibre laser, CNC punching, machining and folding machines, general fabrication, painting, assembly and associated range of services.

Firmly focused on the future, it has invested £4m into new machinery over the last 12 months for a plant list that now includes two 8Kw Trumpf Fibre Laser, Trumpf Punch/Laser combination, Trumpf 5000 punch machine, 10 Trumpf press brakes, two Haeger nut insertion machines, one robotic press brake cell and Trumpf Stopa automated sheet storage tower. It is implementing a new ERP system for greater control of capacities, to provide the best lead time and service.
