Technology joins without damage

HTE Engineering preview edit-TMBHTE Plastic Joining Solutions, specialist in the design and manufacture of bespoke plastic welding and component joining equipment, will be demonstrating its PulseStaker technology at Southern Manufacturing 2018.

PulseStaker is suitable for joining any plastic components, says the company. High gloss or painted parts can be joined without any damage to surfaces and even chrome plated parts can be staked efficiently.

The company offers free guidance on correct joint design for the chosen polymer and advice on the most suitable assembly process. Applications range from contact lens production to vehicle interior door panels.

The company also offers Pulse Fusion, a technique to bond thermoplastic parts together. The method uses a resistance wire to create local heating which causes the two plastic parts to melt in the area of contact with the wire. Applying pressure pushes the two parts together to create a fusion zone around the wire. The technique can be used for vehicle under-bonnet fluid expansion tanks, domestic heating controllers and battery cases where tamper evident seals, strong gas and watertight joints are required.

The company is accredited to ISO:9001. Services include design, prototyping, manufacture, distribution and after-sales service for customers in the automotive, electronics and medical device industries around the world.
