Sheet metal processing capabilities highlighted by Trumpf

TMT786 TruPunch 1000_tmb Centre stage on the TRUMPF stand at Southern 2015 will be the TruPunch 1000, an entry-level punching machine. Despite its small footprint it can process a medium-format sheet with one single clamping operation and without repositioning. As well as first-time users, it is also a good supplementary machine that allows low-volume orders and batch sizes to be quickly and flexibly processed. Tools that can be fitted include its MultiTools that can be rotated through 360°. This capability minimises the number of tools needed and maximises productivity, says the company.

The company offers laser source options – joining, cutting, surface treatment or microprocessing. Its TruMark series demonstrates laser marking which is fast, economical and reliable, says the company.

For mechanical sheet metalworking, the company will show its latest punching and profiling technology and an addition to its TruBend Series 3000 press brakes, characterised by a space saving design. Automatic crowning ensures consistent angles and high axis speeds make them the fastest machines in their class, claims the company. The TruBend 3066 has press force of 660kN and 2m bending length. A two-axis back gauge is standard but this can be optionally expanded to a four- or five-axis system, to position complex part geometries securely.

The press brake is suited to those operators that are new to manual bending, with a simple and intuitive operating concept. The operator can sketch components and program them graphically at the machine’s large display with modern multi-touch control.

The company’s software and tooling developments will also be on the stand, with TruTops packages optimised for sheet metal production and developed concurrently with the company’s machines to ensure the latest functionality is supported.

Finally, the company’s portable fabrication tools, TruTools, complete the stand display.
