Plenty to get excited about on the Bystronic stand

Bystronic UK gives its new electrically-driven press brake machine, the Xcite 80 E, its UK debut at this year’s Southern Manufacturing Show. The firm claims its electrically powered Xcite 80 E is more efficient and more productive than traditional hydraulic- driven press brakes.

Xcite80 The Xcite 80 E is claimed to be one of the fastest and most economical ways to produce high-quality bent parts. The machine is equipped with the Bystronic hydraulic tool clamping system for rapid set up times, ease of use and versatility.  Furthermore, the Xcite is extremely accurate; the Force Dynamic Drive (FDD) system provides speed, power and constant pressure along the entire bending length, whilst also ensuring that minimal deflections occur in both the upper and lower beam. The Xcite 80 E bends to within a top class tolerance of plus/minus 25 arc minutes and with an impressive repeatability of plus/minus 0.0025 millimetres. Precisely formed parts can be produced quickly with consistently high quality. The machine is especially effective when forming small and thin parts, but is also capable of bending thicker parts and completing large batch jobs at with high speed.

The Xcite was launched at this years’ Euroblech exhibition with a new state of the art touch screen control, developed by Bystronic. The control is so easy to program and use that it is claimed that it cannot get any simpler. The same platform is used in its laser cutting machines, speeding set-up time and minimising the learning curve. 3D Graphics on the machine control instruct the sequence of bends to the operator with clarity that resembles watching a film of the process.

Faster turnaround times and increased efficiency do not compromise user safety; using the Fast Bend+ safety system the tool can be positioned very close to the metal sheet without the operator being placed in any danger. Only then does the machine switch over to bending speed. The Xcite 80 E features a high build quality, designed to provide long lasting performance with low maintenance costs.

Bystronic UK is hoping the UK launch one of its most innovative new products to date at Southern 2013 will help it repeat its success at the show in 2012, where it secured significant orders. Bystronic UK managing director David Larcombe commented: "This machine, with its new touch screen control was certainly well named. Exciting it most certainly is, possibly the most exciting pressbrake I have had the pleasure of being involved in through my career to date".
