New laser cutting machines for MSS Lasers announced at Southern 2014

MSS Lasers announced this morning that it is to launch a new range of fibre laser cutting machines in the UK. The laser specialist will formally launch the Eagle eVision and iNspire at an open house event at its headquarters in Rugby on 18th to 20th March.

The new machines are some of the most advanced on the market, says the firm, giving users linear drives on all thee axes and a low-inertia carbon fibre transverse bridge construction, which enables the Eagle to accelerate up to to 6G and achieve cutting speeds in excess of 100m/min. Table change times are less than 10 seconds, enabling quick changeovers and higher productivity.

Customers can choose various power options from 2kW up to 6 kW, making it one of the highest power fibre lasers commercially available and ideal for thicker materials, says the company.

The Eagle range comes in bed sizes up to 6m x 2.5m, allowing it to handle larger sheets. The design of the fibre laser eliminates the use of CO2 gas and many of the associated components. Further advantages include the rapid start up and shut down, and the ability to cut reflective materials such as copper, brass and plastics.
