Large capacity machining centres create impressive presence
Geo Kingsbury promoted its LPM (large prismatic machines) division at Southern Manufacturing 2016. Geo Kingsbury acts as sole UK sales and service agent throughout the UK and Ireland for some of the best know German manufacturers of big capacity machining centres and flexible manufacturing systems, including SHW, F Zimmermann, Burkhardt + Weber and Waldrich Coburg . The latest Waldrich Coburg agency adds new machine types to the Geo Kingsbury product programme, namely large capacity vertical turning lathes and grinding machines.
Smaller metal-cutting equipment in the company’s portfolio, which is also of German manufacture, was also highlighted, consisting of the Hermle range of 3- to 5-axis machining centres and the single- and multi-spindle CNC lathe programme from Index and its subsidiary, Traub. Richard Kingsbury, managing director of Gosport-based Geo Kingsbury said, “In the last quarter of 2014, we opened an office in Birmingham, headed by business development director, Chris Hewitson, specifically to promote our LPM programme. He is assisted by senior applications engineer, Steve Burrows. Both have been active in the machine tool industry for all of their working lives.”
