Injection moulding receives third plastics award
Product design skills have brought awards and accolades for Marden-based Boddingtons. The company, that exhibited at Southern Manufacturing 2016, won the Plastics Industry Product Design Award for the third year in a row, an unprecedented feat in UK plastics, says the company.
All manufacturing programmes come on line through the company’s New Production Introduction (NPI) process, designed to help ensure the customer’s financial and timeline risks are minimised. As well as contract injection moulding, the company provides design and engineering assistance, tool making and trialling, volume injection moulding (it is able to accommodate large suites of tools); stockholding and inventory and materials purchasing.
Over the past sixty years, the company has three main strands; volume contract moulding; technical moulding and medical/cleanroom moulding. A factory extension is currently underway and will double the manufacturing footprint of the business when completed in July 2016.
