Ignys launches rapid deployment test fixtures
Nottingham-based electronics and software product design consultancy, Ignys, has developed a new test jig solution to facilitate automated quality control on low volume manufacture projects.
The new test fixtures are designed for quick delivery and are fully customisable to customer’s particular needs. Richard Fletcher Ignys’ MD says “Many fixtures on the market are expensive, cumbersome to transport and often come with a lengthy lead time. So we’ve designed our jigs to be a portable and cost effective solution with shorter lead times.”
Verifying that a printed circuit board has been correctly populated before being assembled into the final product can greatly reduce the risk of time-consuming and inefficient rework. As many manufacturers charge by the minute, saving even a couple of minutes per board can reduce costs whilst improving test coverage and quality, along with helping to speed up programming and calibration. Test fixtures can also add traceability and quality to electronics product manufacturing with speedy test times.
