High quality encoders and programming systems from Heidenhain
Heidenhain returns to Southern Manufacturing with its world-class range of linear and rotary encoders, data display and control products. Heidenhain products are used primarily in high-precision machine tools as well as in plants for the production and processing of electronic components.
The firm’s linear encoders, pioneered on machine tools, are suitable for any automation situation. Sealed units are protected from dust, chips and splash fluids and are ideal for operations in any harsh factory environment. Sealed linear encoders with full-size scale housings and high resistance to vibration are available up to 30m measuring length and in slimline housings for limited installation space.
Heidenhain will exhibit examples of its display units, designed for applications that require measurements to be observed in real time and recorded for future reference. The units feature a data interface that adapts the encoder signals for further processing in higher-level electronics or simply to print out the measured values. The firm will also showcase examples from its popular TNC machine tool control system, which allows conversational programming at the machine or via an offline programming station. Up to 13 axes may be controlled. Integrated axis and spindle drives up to 55kW are available. Ancillary features that can be controlled include spindle and table probes, tool changers and fixture actuation.
