High power waterproof connectors from Hirose
Among the exhibits at the Hirose stand at Southern Electronics 2014, visitors can see the new HR41 range of waterproof, circular connectors that are designed to meet the requirement for high power connector reliability in outdoor harsh environments.
The connector range consists of bayonet locking, cable mount plugs and panel mount receptacles that can handle up to 20A. The connectors are available in three or five contact positions. The connector has a standard market commodity crimp tool for easy field assembly.
A raised mating indicator on the plug and receptacle is a visual and tactile aid to the mating operation in dark conditions. The cable can be clamped and the waterproof gasket sealed in one simultaneous step without additional tooling. The anti-loosening mechanism ensures that the tightening ring securing the cable will not come loose during operation.
The connectors can be used in harsh, demanding environments, for example LED lighting, tunnel lighting, construction lighting, fishing lighting, offshore lighting, robots, electronic toll systems and other industrial applications.
