Five models make up vertical machining centre family
C. Dugard’s XP range of vertical machining centres has five models, ranging from 762 to 2060mm x axis travel. The mid-range selection of machining centres have bigger ballscrews and bigger guideways for a more robust type of working environment, says the firm. Examples of the XP range can be seen cutting metal at Southern 2018.
There are machine options, such as fourth axis units, Renishaw probing and toolsetting as well as Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain control options, making the range suitable for a variety of machining environments.
Smallest in the range is the 760XP. It has a 762-435-520mm x-y-z axis travel, a powerful 16.5kW, 12,000rpm spindle as well as a 28-station, side mounted toolchanger. It is compact, with a footprint of just 2696 x 2200mm.
The 1000XP is a 1.0m machining centre with 1050-540-560mm x-y-z axis travel, 12,000rpm spindle, 44m/min rapids in x and y and 25m/min rapids in z, as well as 36-station BT40 toolchanger and swarf auger as standard.
The range also includes 1350XP, 1600XP and 2000XP models with generous working envelopes, suitable for larger component manufacture. Again 36 tools are standard, as are BT40, 12,000rpm spindle. Control options across the range include Fanuc (with manual guide i software), Siemens (with shopmill software) and Heidenhain.
