Eight-axis measuring machine from Faro is portable
Metrology products, including the recently launched 8-Axis Quantum ScanArm, will be showcased by Faro at Southern 2020. It integrates an eighth axis in the company’s Quantum FaroArm to make it the world’s first eight-axis portable co-ordinate measuring machine (PCMM), says the company.
It has been tested to withstand the harshest shopfloor environments. When combined with the company’s Blu Laser Line probe or Prizm Laser Line probe, it becomes a 3D laser scanning system. Staff will be give practical demonstrations during the show.
The Laser Tracker Vantage will also be demonstrated. This high-accuracy, large measurement range, laser tracking device boasts MultiView cameras, SmartFind target detection and TruADM. It has a water and dust resistant IP52 rating.
The TracerSI Laser projector system will also be showcased. This projects a laser onto a surface or object to provide a virtual template to allow operators and assemblers to quickly and accurately position components.
