Engineers at Design & Automation Solutions (DAS)have been training with a Melfa Asssista collaborative robot (cobot) from Mitsubishi Electric Automation Systems UK. The cobot was demonstrated at this year’s show and the partnership allows the team to pass on knowledge to customers. The company can also tool and reprogram the cobot for a multitude off applications tailored to “any automation need”.

The company can offer support from technically advanced to straightforward engineering Examples include heavy duty scissor lift tables with cross slides and the added implementation of a tooled Grimm linear, to a cap feeding system for a UK-based biotech automation company. Another project was to provide a high performance, powered gantry system, capable of automatically tracking the position of a moving robot within a 9.0 x 9.0 x 2.5m volume. The gantry was also required to provide an 80kg winch function.
