Custom tube bending and workflow solutions from Unison
Tube-bending specialist Unison and Ingenium Integration, demonstrated the EB1000 at Southern Manufacturing 2017; a high precision, CNC controlled manual operated bending machine, suitable for bending tubes up to 16mm OD and ideal for low volume production and prototypes in demanding applications. Tube bending custom products, tailored to specific customer requirements, account for a significant proportion of the Unison business, for diverse market sectors including aerospace, automotive, marine, oil and gas, energy and bespoke products. Its standard range of all-electric bending machines accommodates tube diameters from 16 mm to 180 mm, with custom machines available, capable of bending 10” Schedule Pipe with an OD of 273 mm.
Also showcased on the Unison stand were its range of advanced software tools. Advanced 3D simulation, Opt2Sim, allows users to analyse, optimise and validate programs without needing access to the physical machine. TubeWorks tube bending CAD/CAM software package enables users to automatically extract key manufacturing information such as bend angles and rotations from a native SolidWorks model or a common CAD file format – reducing the time that it takes to develop programs for CNC tube bending dramatically, typically from hours to just minutes.
Complementing the tube machine business is sister company, Ingenium Integration Ltd highlighted its design consultancy services, from robotic cells to integrated production lines and turnkey automated systems designed to save customers time and money.
