Bumper year spurs investment at Southern Springs & Pressings
Southern Springs and Pressings will be highlighting the recent enhancements to its capabilities at Southern 2018. Following a bumper year, which saw a 12% increase in turnover, the firm has invested in both new machinery and improved production control systems to help boost its ambitious plans for further growth. Its busy tool room has been expanded with the addition of a new CNC milling machine that will enable Southern Springs to process blocks for progression tools in a more efficient time scale and help to reduce tooling lead times
A new IT system is now fully operational, allowing it to keep track of all customer orders and stock levels. The information is updated automatically and displayed throughout the factory ensuring ‘real-time’ information can be accessed by multiple channels and on various devices.
A further two CNC Power Presses have been ordered to deal with increasing demand. This will increase their press facilities to a total of nine machines.
