Bernstein senses Southern Manufacturing will be good for business!

Aldridge based switches, sensors and enclosures specialist, Bernstein Ltd, will be showcasing the capabilities of the Bernstein CSMS on Stand F43 at Southern Manufacturing next month.

image The CSMS is claimed to be the most versatile contactless safety monitoring sensor on the market today, employing RFID technology to ensure that safety doors and protective guards remain closed. Internal diagnostics enable open safety guards and system errors to be quickly located and rectified.

The CSMS’s potential will be demonstrated with an engaging interactive display featuring a robot in a cage which has safety doors. The robot will be moving until the safety doors open – triggering an immediate shut-down. The CSMS sensors are very flexible; working on both sliding and hinged doors in various configurations. Bernstein’s robotic display will also include a safety light curtain across the top of cage which activates total shut-down when broken. This technology is imperative in machine building applications where safety is paramount.

Bernstein Ltd’s Managing Director, Robert Emms, says, “We exhibited at Southern Manufacturing in 2012 and it provided a really worthwhile opportunity to discuss our products with a wide range of manufacturing companies. Being able to show how our products actually work is really valuable; we’re looking forward to introducing some of our lines to visitors who may not be aware of the Bernstein brand.”

Bernstein will also be demonstrating its IP68 rated enclosures, cables and glands by submerging an enclosed digital display screen under water. The screen will host a quiz which visitors to the stand are invited to enter – one lucky entrant* will win an iPod Touch and iPod Shuffles are also up for grabs for two runners-up.

And finally, the networking capabilities of the AS-i Interface will also be on show at Southern Manufacturing. As part of its ‘one-stop’ service, Bernstein offers limit switches and safety switches in AS-i compatible versions, together with the first bus compatible hinge switch, designed with a direct linkage that does not require a connection box.

This provides the AS-i advantages of low installation costs and minimal wiring components for complete electrical systems, and even extends to connection boxes, power supply units, safety monitors, hand held programmable apparatus and other accessories.

More information about the CSMS can be found here or you can watch a short film about the CSMS on Bernstein Ltd’s parent company, Bernstein AG’s YouTube channel. For more details on Bernstein’s products and services please visit www.bernstein-ltd.co.uk or call 01922 715111.

*The winner and two runners-up will be drawn randomly from all correct entries and notified no later than Friday 22nd February 2013.
