Automate the hand assembly process with Robotas

Two systems from Robotas Technologies, to be highlighted at Southern 2019, can optimise the hand assembly process.

Mascot automates and streamlines the PCB THT component hand placement process, making it efficient, reliable and repeatable. At every assembly step the component placement location is shown on the PCB via laser indication, the correct component is automatically dispensed/indicated to the operator and work instructions are displayed to the operator. Benefits include improved product quality, increased throughput, the virtual elimination of set-up time and reduced rework.

Sigma is for the mechanical hand assembly process. It provides a single platform for operator guidance to be produced. Images, text, 3D models, animation and video clips can be used to deliver the most suitable type of operator guidance at any process step. A deep understanding of editing tools or graphics packages is not required, says the company, as this is handled within the platform. There is also the facility to control many different types of smart/automated tooling.
