The Consumer Products Testing division of Eurofins Scientific has announced the acquisition of Electronic Test and Calibration (ETC) Ltd, a premier supplier of calibration services and EMC compliance solutions, and Hursley EMC Services Ltd, a leading provider of EMC testing and certification services. The combined acquisitions, providing a range of complementary and extended services, supports Eurofins’ continued growth plans and accelerates entry into new and adjacent markets.
ETC has provided accredited calibration services for over 25 years from its base in Bideford, Devon. It has built an unrivalled reputation for client focused service, fast turnaround times and technical competence and is trusted by manufacturers and test laboratories alike both in the UK and overseas. Its commercial and military EMC testing services attract customers from all over the UK.
Becky Scott, ETC Managing Director, commented “The stability and backing of one of the world’s leading testing and certification companies will enable ETC to deliver the benefits of new and innovative services to its clients.”
Hursley EMC Services has been at the forefront of EMC testing, certification, and compliance solutions for over 20 years. Operating from two sites in Southampton and led by Rob St John James and Julian Jones, both of whom remain with the company, they have built a loyal and growing client base by providing exceptional client service.
Managing Director, Rob St John James commented, “Joining the Eurofins network was a natural progression for Hursley EMC Services and we are excited about the prospect of joining a respected and progressive international company. This provides a major growth opportunity for our business as well as providing extended services to our clients from the wider Eurofins network.”
The acquisitions bring the number of Eurofins E&E product testing sites in the UK to 6, enabling easy access to services for manufacturers throughout the UK.
“The acquisition of ETC and Hursley further demonstrates the ambition of Eurofins be the market leader in calibration, testing and certification, following the 2017 acquisition of York EMC Services” explains Nick Wainwright, Managing Director of Eurofins E&E Product Testing UK and Chief Executive of Eurofins York, “The new acquisitions support our shared plans to meet increasing demand, as well as offering the most comprehensive range of calibration, testing, certification and compliance solutions.”
